So I could not get a loan for local CDL school (debt to income ratio), so I guess it is company paid CDL school. Now off to sell my motorcycle so I can afford food and bills while I'm training!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Look into any LTL companies near you? You might be able to work the dock and get paid while in school.
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.
LTL carriers include:
At CFI you just need to cover your bills for a couple of months. They transport you, house you and cover your food while in school.
Good luck.

Not really looking to doing OTR. Dedicated or Regional. I will probably go with Schneider, bit open others, I'm just researching different companies and options
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

If Schneider still does the dedicated Walmart out of Washington Courthouse, I really liked running those. All of the ones I got went into WVa. Other than the twisty roads, which I got used to, it was good. The staff at the distribution center was GREAT!
Good luck!
