I had to go around a truck fuel tank in the road not sure if it had fuel in it or not. That got me thinking what's the strangest thing you have encountered in the road?

In Phoenix on vacation we came up on a state trooper swerving across all lanes of traffic came around a bend in the highway to see another state trooper stopped in the middle lane blocking off a huge piece of steel. Just past that there was a empty flat bed on the shoulder.

Also seen someone with a Uhaul trailer dump an entire bed room set on the highway.

Seen countless things here on the I-15 Cajon Pass in Cali. nice O/O trucks new chrome stack top half, 6 ft long came off, bounced along the white lines, end over end, right past me. Another day a pick-up pulling a trailer with 3-4 huge granite slabs, went around a curve too fast. Trailer flipped over right on his tow ball, truck stayed upright/attached. Worst, was harley rider took a spill right in the center of the lanes. Car's stopped to block him as others waving traffic around, until emergency could get there, plus it was just a wee bit foggy. Hoped he was ok in the end, don't know how or why he lost it.

Ran over a car engine block two or more years ago up near Buffalo, NY on my way to Home Depot store #1234. Had to replace two tires and one wheel. Fell off a junk man's trailer on the Interstate.

A couple days ago on a 3 lane highway, I'm in the right lane, there's a wheelbarrow on the right shoulder and a wheelbarrow in the middle lane. After I passed it someone on the CB mentioned a wheelbarrow in the right lane. Had to correct him.

On an interstate in Dallas area a few years ago, I saw an entire sofa in the right hand lane.

Had to go around an intact bed frame on us 75 in OK today. Had a guy on a moped on I-40 outside of Abq. one day. He looked exactly like the movie dumb and dumber. I dont think he was going above 25. Also, somebodys Rhode Island Red was wandering around out in iron ridge WI and on the same trip, there was a bald eagle on the road, just walking around.
