Hello everyone, I just got my CDL 2 weeks, I'm getting hired with SWIFT, I went and took the urine and hair follicle test yesterday, While I'm driving home, I remembered last month, I went to the E.R. with a 102.6 temperature and a headache that had me in tears, For whatever reason, The nurse in the E.R. came back with a hydrocodone bitartrate acetaminophen, I took it (just 1 single pill). It was covid and the next 2 weeks were hell. My question is, Will this 1 pill ruin my career? Will one time show up on the hair follicle test? Please advise, As I am scared to fricking death now.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Howdy, Rondell!

Welcome to Trucking Truth, also... ~ !

a.) On a U/A, just one should be voided within 72 hours. Hair follicle... hmmm. It could show.

b.) Why didn't you just LIST that ?!?!?! (Pretty sure they'd asked!) If it were prescribed it'd not been a problem.

c.) You COULD call .. and/or email, and advise them of your memory lapse!

Best wishes; let us know! (We've got some info on SAP programs, hope it doesn't come to that!)

If you have the prescription, that will be a big plus.
