On Friday, lawmakers introduced a bipartisan bill that would create a tax credit just for truck drivers as a way to attract and retain more drivers in the industry.

Create a new refundable tax credit of up to $7,500 for truck drivers holding a valid Class A CDL who drive at least 1,900 hours in the year. This tax credit would last for two years (2022 and 2023).Create a new refundable tax credit of up to $10,000 for new truck drivers or individuals enrolled in a registered trucking apprenticeship. This tax credit would also last for two years.

Since so many of us are paid by the mile, not the hour, I wonder if there’s going to be a consideration for that? Never underestimate guvmint’s ability to F things up.

With the mileage, the conspiracy theorist in me envisions two years from now we get accessed some type of "mileage-away-from-residence" levy. I don't trust these jokers in DC for anything to take my money and give it to someone else. Spread the wealth BS.
