Side Swipe A Car

So i side swiped a car with my steering tire (passenger side) As i was switching lanes

Anybody been involved in something similar? If so what was the outcome?

Sounds to me like clearly a preventable accident on your record. You ran into the other vehicle. Was it parked?

No it wasnt parked It was traveling the same direction i was I was switching from left lane to right line and i hit the car with my steering tire. No injuries just significant damage to cars driver door. Did get a police report.

I was in the companys truck

That's a serious preventable. You could have easily killed the other driver. Your carrier (or their insurance company) will probably have to replace their car. Depending on your carrier and your history with them you'll likely be fired. If they trained you and you're new you might get off with re-training. It's very difficult to recover your driving career with a serious preventable like that. If you're fired and you still want to drive you may have to go 1099. If you're not fired you'll want to cling to your current carrier for at least 3 years to have a shot with another company.

Why were you in the left lane? Passing? And it sounds like the vehicle you hit was essentially in your blind spot?
