So I like Pinterest, I've got an album dedicated to both Conventional and Cab Over Engine trucks (admittedly a guilty pleasure). So Pinterest knows I like big semies and sends me pics in my feed. Saw this and this is the one place I wanted to share it...

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

That's the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, I-64 between Hampton and Norfolk, VA.

There are sensors leading up to the tunnel portion that warn if a rig is over height.

I crossed the Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel…. Not going to lie, it definitely made me nervous.

It was pouring and windy, and I was empty. Guess I should have done a more thorough trip plan, had no idea what I was driving in to.

I don’t care for bridges to begin with so 😂

I was hauling two empties back from Virginia Beach. Bouncing along and got pulled over by some guy wearing a hazmat suit (not sure why) who was on the side of the road. He told me my clearance was OK but to go slow thru the tunnel so I wouldn't bounce!

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

Yes, bridges and tunnels can be scary. I recently had a route through a city that had a bridge marked 13’6” and I hesitated before proceeding. I crept forward at walking speed and was nervous the entire way until I cleared that bridge. If I had known it was coming up, I would have tried to pull over until another truck went through and cleared.

Here’s a question: Do you ever go under a bridge or overpass and catch yourself involuntary ducking? I do this and have to laugh at myself afterward.

On my last trip, I was routed to a detour because of a closed ramp. Following the detour I came to a railroad bridge marked at 12’0”. Fortunately I was able to turn around before I created a sunroof on the truck. This course correction cost me a 50 mile re-route. Thank you Minnesota for your great signage.
