Is it legal to run home made biodiesel in a commercial vehicle when ifta reporting is required? If so, how would one go about this?
Howdy, Timothy!
I've got zero answers for ya; perhaps one of our seasoned vets will chime in with 'something.' Are you an O/O? (Owner/op?) Do you drive for a company, or are you leased on to a carrier? Is this off road CDL work? What state? So many questions; sorry!

Best of luck;

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OOIDA is an international trade association representing the interests of independent owner-operators and professional drivers on all issues that affect truckers. The over 150,000 members of OOIDA are men and women in all 50 states and Canada who collectively own and/or operate more than 240,000 individual heavy-duty trucks and small truck fleets.
The mission of OOIDA is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety and responsibility among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.

Timothy, I really don’t know the definitive answer to your question, but my guess would be that it’s illegal because the government can’t tax it.
I had to chuckle because your question reminded me of the news story a few years ago. Some plastic surgeon was using the fat he sucked out during liposuctions to make bio-diesel. Now that was illegal and he got in serious trouble for that.
