I used to love driving across fancy gap, especially in the evenings around sunset. Got to drive it in my 4wheeler a few months ago coming back from Charlotte… much more enjoyable 😂
Thanks for the welcome y’all!

Hey, my name is Dave and I’m a truck driver….not to be confused with a steering wheel holder. I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself. I live in SW VA not to far from the I-81 speedway (or so it seems anyway) in the Roanoke area. I got my CDL back in 2008 and started like most as an OTR driver. That got old pretty quick…my last big trip was it for me; dispatch told me to pick up a load in Maryland on a Thursday at lunch time and have it in Phoenix, AZ by Monday at 0800 after I had already been driving since Sunday morning in a 62mpg truck. They don’t call them comic books for nothin I reckon.
Anyway, I’ve worn a lot of different hats over the years. I’ve delivered beer, milk, building materials and water, hauled heavy equipment on a lowboy, jockeyed for about 6 years and now I’m hauling ethanol for a local fuel company. I’m just here for the party I guess, so I look forward to diving into these threads during my downtime at the railyard.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
