Introducing a bill is one thing… having it pass and signed is something entirely different.
Where did all the money go from the last highway infrastructure bill? Bike paths, flowers in the medians, improved lighting at bus stops, electric scooters, more subsidies for Amtrak, etc. Yawn....
Same with the border wall funds, that were approved and "supposedly" ready to spend during Bush's presidency? Where'd those funds go?? Iran?? lol.....Not like there is not PLENTY of wide open lands across this country, at least along the southern half. Cal/Az/NM/Tx/Ok etc Missouri/Kansas etc
Even making good size pull off parking/rest areas away from the highways, they don't need to be very fancy with loads of frills, like truck stops.
Pretty soon the trucks will be permanently parked if diesel gets any worse.
Also, this will never pass as no one profits from it. All truckers really need is an open parking lot. I would be content just knowing I have a place that isn't the interstate to park my rig and lay my head down after a late night delivery.
