One of the reasons that I closed up shop in construction and chose trucking. We simply couldn't get entry level kids to work. It's very physically and cognitively demanding work. The kids were just soft entitled babies.

The problem resides in Gen X. We're their parents. I don't see a solution on the horizon. There are spotted incidents of good kids in both millennials and zoomers, but it's few and far between, but on an individual basis, we can enact change. I've had opportunity to change a couple of them into hard working responsible thinking adults. They in turn start enacting change in their peers.

The overwhelming tide of them embrace group think, feelings over fact and instant gratification over hard work. If we look at history, that mindset leads to a willingly subjugated mass, in the pursuit of obtaining free basic needs instead of working for them, which leads to despotic rule, which leads eventually to violent resistance and revolution. It is an almost inescapable path. There are no instances of successful far left regimes in post industrial revolution mankind.
