Is there a reason you are not returning to Western Express?
Hello! So I put in my two week resignation with western by email and calling but I didn't want to return because while I was there I noticed unsafe practices and I wanted something more along the lines of regional
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
Emily, can you be specific?
What unsafe practices did you witness? And what about their culture don’t you like?
Although you gave your two weeks notice, unless something else occurred, I believe they would accept you back.
Otherwise, cast a wider net…
Hey Emily,
It's clear you're leaving out an awful lot of information about your situation. It's hard to help you if we don't know what's happening.
Breaking your ankle is no reason to leave a company. Seeing "unsafe practices" - well, you're the captain of your own ship. As long as no one puts you in harm's way, what others do is not your biggest concern. No one wants to see anyone get hurt, but as a rookie driver, you already have plenty on your plate.
You absolutely must be honest on your applications. These companies do very thorough background checks, and they will find everything. So be honest.
If you're looking for a regional gig, just apply to any companies you can find that offer it in your area. This is the slowest time of year for most companies, so that's going to make it a little more difficult.
Let us know of questions you may have, and fill us in on more details so we can understand your situation better.

Hello I just got an offer from paschal truck lines, I’ve been looking at them for a while now. I really appreciate you guys input and be safe! I could come back and comment on this later, I’m about to get busy.
Good luck at Paschal experienced driver.
Lmao.
It's pretty frightening how much little experience is considered "experienced". I've been at this a year and a half. Looked like a clown trying to do a simple sight side in the yard this week. Also was heavy and my tandems were all over the lines on a rural windy road. LOL.
Good luck at Paschal experienced driver.
A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Hello my name is Emily, I started with western express coming out of school…fresh start. Well, I broke my ankle while I was at home and my employment/experience with them became all to nothing. I started in august of 2022 and it is now January 2023.. in august is when it happened.. so this “6 months of experience” is troubling because I’ll bring up to companies that I’ve worked with western express which is the truth and paschal and prime seem to want no experience at all or you have to have 6months… but I don’t want to lie and I know thier going to find it on the DAC report or past employers. Which I don’t have an issue with. is there anything I can really do about this
DAC:
Drive-A-Check Report
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
