Worst I've seen in 7 years trailer trucking.
Been horrible. They've kept me in the mountains and the west where it just keeps getting snow and flooding.
The good side is that I haven't seen Wyoming in a long time, the bad side is that I've seen WA OR CA ID UT and the mountain areas of AZ and NV since December.
Headed back to UT and the CO. Of course they'll shoot me right back to SLC and the most likely back over to CA.
I’ve survived my first solo winter so far. Was sent to WA state twice thru WY. Several days shutdown due to chain law, freezing rain or high wind.
On 3/18 drove through blowing snow, high winds in MI and IN.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

So, how was your winter driving? There might be some more hazardous conditions to come, but so far how would you rate your winter driving experience?
I was extremely fortunate to avoid being affected by winter weather until last week. It helped that I was off for a month between December and January, but I also had great fortune in being given loads that took me away from the winter weather.
Fifth and last time (so far) that I have chained this year, 2/23/23, going over Donner:
I haven't been across Wyoming in 6 or 7 weeks because of the shutdowns. So I've gone across 70 more than I have in a long time, then down 15 to 58 at Barstow over to 5 at Bakersfield and up to Oakland. Coming back out a couple weeks ago, I got stopped at Barstow because Tehachapi was shut down. So I ended up going south to CA-138, a 2 lane country road, to CA-14 and back to 58. I'm hoping this is pretty much the end of winter.... however, as I'm sitting here on my home time, I'm getting text messages from WYODOT:
I80: Exit 111, Airport and Baxter Roads - Rawlins: Closed BOTH DIR due to winter conditions and crashes. As of Mar 25 at 13:00, the est open time is in 4 to 6 hrs
Mother nature has sure had her panties in a wad this year. I'm hoping within the next month it just slows down and doesn't last very long when it does snow.

Laura, you are amazing to do what you do at your age. I’ve never had to chain up or drive mountains like you do.
I really admire your professionalism.

We were lucky and had a very mild winter here in the Philly area. Mostly rain for our precipitation, nothing more then a few snow showers and flurries when it was cold enough. A few 40-50mph windy days were the only challenging drive conditions round here.
I have been lucky this year, not a lot of snow and ice. I did get rerouted because of a closure on I-80 through WY, which closed just after opening for a few hours, after closing for about four days. I also had to shut down for about 1/2 of a day because of chain requirements. My company does not want us to drive in chain conditions. Hopefully, Mother Nature will make it up to us with an early Spring.
Mother Nature is acting like she is in an argument with Father Time, and keeps coming back with "and another thing!" Then slamming the door and stomping off.
I have shut down in WY way more times than I care to count. This is my second winter driving season, and it's giving me a way bigger appreciation for those that drive further north of us!
