I went to the Premiere driving school for CR England, drove for 6 months and a car hit me in Logansport IN where I was not ticketed and not at fault. England terminated me. I got a job driving for Ozark where I drove for 6 months and I fell asleep and drove off the road with no damage of any kind. I was terminated for an unsatisfactory safety record. I have not driven since 12/21. I want to drive again but am having a hard time finding someone to hire me. Can anyone help?

Dan, The sad fact in this sentence is that you fell asleep while driving. The "no damage of any kind" part is no help against sleeping while driving. Even just once.

The bare facts of your CRE accident are no help here either. And since, for any reason, you haven't driven in the last 18 months does not sound good to possible hiring companies.. You might check with local beverage distributors and such to get back into a big rig.

Hi Dan. Like Errol pointed out there may not have been property damage or equipment damage, but the damage to your career was almost fatal. If I were you I would be looking for an opportunity to drive ANYTHING somebody will hire you for. Dump truck, Sanitation truck, etc. Class B jobs may be the best you can hope for until many years elapse.

Why did you fall asleep at the wheel? Not enough rest? Night time driving? What is your plan to avoid this ever happening again?

Well, Dan, falling asleep at the wheel, is a very big no no. From the companys stand point AND their insurance company, it "could've been a LOT worse" Someone could have been hit, injured, possibly died because of it. So like mentioned, probably the ONLY way you can get driving job is some sort of class B. But even then you may be facing an uphill battle as far as that goes, for who knows how many more years.

Wish you luck in finding something, somewhere, you can drive again.
