Prime denied me too after a couple days of applying. They seem to have enough applicants that they can be picky that way. Just about everyone that reads this site are steered into applying to them first.

That same day I applied with cr england and they took me no problem.

That's for sure about everyone going to prime. Im keeping strong and keeping my head up. I applied for c.r England and I will find out tomorrow. are you working there now? how do you like it?

Whoops posted that twice sorry. didn't realize that it went to page 2.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I worked for them for six months in order for them to pay off my cdl training. They are not as bad as all the negative posts you may see about them around the internet. The horror stories come mostly from those that tried to lease a truck while driving for them.

If you go as a company driver it should be just like any other company. Sure there are companies that pay better than them which I drive for now, but I have no big complaints about cr england.

They keep good care of their trucks, even gave me a brand new one my very first day out of training. I was able to quit without any trouble. Gave them about ten days notice and they would hire me again anytime.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Same as the advice from before.....APPLY EVERYWHERE!!!! Seriously. I don't mean one or two at a time. You have your work cut out for you. Seriously it could take anywhere from 5 tries to 75 tries. Do an application for all the companies at the same time. You never know when someone might be willing to take a chance on someone.

Thanks for the advice I will apply everywhere I can. is there a way I can send a bunch of apps out or am going to have to work thru them one by one. I don't see why someone wouldn't take a chance on me. I have no felonies, no dui , only one misdemeanor from 5 years ago. I got a speeding ticket 7 years ago but these company's got back 5 years so that shouldn't be an issue. also I have a solid work history. praying I will get an opportunity somewhere :)
