I have talked to a recruiter and the safety manager and I don't se any current people bashing the company online, rare these days for trucking companies. Can anyone tell me anything about them?

Hello Peter, and welcome to the forum!

I wouldn't base my choice on a company because there's no one bashing them - it really means nothing, and it also means nothing if a lot of people are bashing them. I work for one of the most seriously bashed trucking companies around, I mean they have people who have taken cyber whining to a whole new level of absurdity. I get treated like a king, make great money, and usually have more miles than I can physically accomplish each week. Remember this one piece of advice once you get started at your new career - your performance as a driver is what controls your fate in this career. If you could tape that up on your windshield right in front of your face and look at it everyday until it becomes a part of your mentality it will steer you through so many of the things that former drivers and wanna-be's get all worked up over.

Okay, that was what you really needed to know, but just to satisfy your curiosity I'll tell you what I know about Cypress Truck Lines. I've talked to plenty of their current drivers. I run a flat-bed truck, and I will often see them at the same places I am at. Each of the guys I have spoken with seemed quite satisfied and were staying busy. Some of their trucks are getting a little old, but they seem to take good care of them. I've seen them as far away from Florida as the west coast and up in Wisconsin also, so they do get around.

Seriously though, if you can get it established in your mind that you are the deciding factor for your own success you can enjoy a great job whether you are driving for TMC, or Hunt, or even Western Express. Cypress would be a great place to get a start.
