Day 0 Nashville, TN to Memphis, TN

5:45 a.m. Took Bus to 2nd & Ash Nashville, TN

6:00 a.m. Got Greyhound bus ticket

11:15 a.m. Left to Memphis

3:15 p.m. Arrived at Memphis

4:00 p.m. Shuttle pick up Me and 3 guys

4:15 p.m. Check-in at Motel 6

4:30 p.m. Shower

5:00 p.m. Food at Mapco $8 for sandwich + 2 water

* Migraine, super hot & humid all day. Shuttle driver told me he had dropped off three girls earlier that day. I didn't have a roommate though.

7:30 a.m. Waited outside motel

7:45 a.m. Ride to training center

8:00 a.m. Seated, signed in DL, SS card, birth cert Filled out forms 18 students 1-3 did not show up 5 went home

9:30 a.m. Went to clinic Physical test (DOT) Vision test Urine drug test 1:15 p.m. Checked out

1:45 p.m. Ride back to school

2:00 p.m. Utah CDL-A study papers Air brakes Practice tests Signed contract papers

4:15 p.m. Class dismissed

4:30 p.m. Went to motel to check in Moved people around I now have a roommate

4:45 p.m. Shuttle to Family Dollar

5:15 p.m. Back in motel room Roommate moved in Studied Air Brakes

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
