Plus One !! ... I ditto your entire statement.
Suck up... Nah I'm kidding.
Hey there Andrew,
You pretty much nailed it. Brett and all the mods really do have the interest of the individual considering driving a big truck. The rest of us just want to screw you up...wait...that came out wrong...I mean you will have access to all of our screw ups.

Seriously though, you will have a sense of comraderie here and brutal honesty if necessary.
Welcome
You're quite welcome Andrew and I'm thrilled to hear our site has been such a big help! It's a lot of fun helping people get started in trucking. We really enjoy it because we've been there and we know how brutal that first year can be. There are a lot of choices to be made, a lot of challenges to endure, and a ton of materials to learn. It makes all the difference in the world when people who have gone through it can help out those who are about to.

Brett, On a personal level, reading your stories and words of support and confidence in people you don't know, i do have to commend you, you are doing a terrific service for us noobs to the industry, and i say that with nothing but love being a noob myself lol 😋 It's been six months since I decided to take the steps to become a truck driver. Every step of the way has included Trucking truth. The words from Old School, Benjamin, and your other admins, Sry for not acknowledging all of you! From the banishment of the romantic view of truck driving, learning the realities of the life. It can be harsh, but very rewarding. To the study guides that indeed helped me ace all of my exams, To learning more about why NOT to lease a truck ha😬 Following the stories of those ahead of me, so sorry about hearing your truck got hit Benjamin! And your sage advice with a touch of genuine concern for Monica...😢 I've learned so much and prepared myself for the long arduous road ahead. The first words out of my mouth when i talk to others who are interested in trucking is to point them in this direction. So, after all this sucking up, I just wanted to thank you. I'm sure you've heard it before, but the web site is a tremendous asset and very much appreciated. Here's to a great start in the industry with eyes wide open! 👀
WOW, ellicqiuntley said and so true!! This site, all the people on it, new and old, run on a higher road! Thank you all for being, the best of the best.

Definitely seen and felt and appreciated! Thank you!
Just finished Orientation (Phase 1) at Roehl (i.e. I'm hired!). Andy C.'s comments are spot on, and I want to thank the Trucking Truth Community for helping me get here.
Trucking Truth was the breath of fresh air (actually MANY breaths) I needed to sort through all of the negativity on other trucker sites. This is a VERY helpful site. Straight up comments, blogs, encouragement, "whoops" stories, company previews, CDL Test helps...ALL that you have put together here is tremendous and helped me go ahead with my decision to join the trucking industry--cautiously at first, but then I discovered as I went along that I already knew what was coming, thanks to Trucking Truth in its entirety.
Keeping it safe.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

Ok, Tom I want the skinny on what the orientation at Roehl consisted of!
Really what I would like to know if you would be so kind to share, is what did their company physical consist of? Did you have to be able to lift a certain amount of weight? I know for the guys this may seem silly, but for us gals it can be a big deal! I have been talking to a recruiter for Roehl on a fairly consistent basis and will be talking to someone else on Monday about a specific route they have. I would like to get some information for the horses mouth those if I can (not saying you are a horse by any means!)
I appreciate any insight you would care to share!
