Dejuan, Schneider is a great place to get started at. They have got a top notch training program. Hang in there and learn as much as you can, commit yourself to sticking with them for a full year. When you get finished with that year you will understand why I think it is important. That first year is a huge learning curve. If you think you've learned a lot during your few short weeks of training, just wait until that rookie year is complete - you will have come so far in your skills and understanding of how to make this job work for you that you will be amazed at how far you have advanced in your career.
Thanks! I will do!! I have a quick question, they gave a packing list but said we're limited to one bag. How in the world can you bring everything on that list in one bag?? What's your trades to packing light on the road?
Hi DeJuan. I'd love to hear about your experience. Their tanker division expended me an offer and I'm very seriously considering it. Good luck to you and I hope you give some updates after you get there. Congrats.
Extended an offer. Lol. Not expended.
Laurie I will do!!

I start Schneider National's Orientation on next Tuesday. It will last for 17 days. Week 1 will consist of classroom, simulation's, and yard training. Week 2 - I'm going with a trainer OTR. Week 3 - I'll be back at the terminal doing soft training and the final road test. Any pointer's and advice?
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
