I'm in downtown Chicago, old narrow docks, get assigned my door and it takes about ten minutes for me to get it backed in. Finally made in and then........... I FORGOT TO OPEN MY DOORS! !!!! Feelin like a fool. Oh well. Now we sit and wait. Lesson learned!

Oy. Sorry you made that boo-boo but it's good for the rest of us to be reminded. Ugh. Those old cities and their small docks. It's not like all the space we have out here in The Rockies, is it? Oh well. At least all's well and you didn't hit anything.

Haha.. I've been trucking for several years now and I did the same exact thing a few months ago. Don't feel bad, I just find it funny because sometimes you're in such a hurry you forget to open your doors. Atleast you don't forget to close them and start driving down the road.

What stinks is when you can't open them without pulling all the way out, and you can't pull straight out because there's trailers, trucks, or a wall on the opposite side of you!

At least you didn't uncouple without taking the glad hands off.

How does the cargo stay in with the doors open? Never looked inside before.

Bart I will make you a promise..... You will do that again even after getting some experience.

Yea, hazards of the trade. I did have to pull allthe way back out to get them open. Trailer was empty so no freight inside. If you have freight that is up against the doors of unstable I will put on a load lock or strap it to keep it secure while backing. I suppose it is bound to happen again but I'm sure it won't be for a while. It was my 199th solo load so I guess my next goal is 200 Stupid free loads!
