To the ones still rolling, thank you.
Great pic! LMAO!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving last year, my truck was down for maintenance, so I spent it at a terminal. I was able to walk to a grocery store, and get a leg and breast section of chicken, a slice of pumpkin pie and some cranberry relish.
This year, took my mom to the "Danish Inn" in Elk Horn, Iowa.

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Had Thanksgiving dinner at a Petro in Wisconsin. In Fargo ND now and it's cold outside. Was 0 degrees at 10am this morning. Bunk heater and APU running nonstop and have ice on the inside of the windows. Going to be fun folding frozen tarps tomorrow morning. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving wherever you spent it.
On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.
Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.
Was looking forward all day to a turkey dinner since the Pilot I was heading for had a H-House (can't remember the first part of the name) but WHAT?? NO TURKEY??? I guess Ham & Eggs will have to do. No pumpkin pie either but the cook had brought a homemade sweet patato pie and they comped me a piece . . . almost (almost but not quite) made up for NO TURKEY!! Went to Denny's Friday night and had their regular turkey slices on dressing (stuffing, to some) . . . not quite a Thanksgiving dinner but it will have to do . . .
