Just curious which trucks you guys enjoy driving and why? The new trucks all look the same on the outside, except for the lone star. Which engines last the longest with the least repairs. This should be fun!

Man I like any truck that's going to get me through my trip without breaking down. Honestly though I wouldn't be much help here since my company only leased Freightliners from Ryder.

I have driven Freightliner, Diamond Reo, Kenworth, Peterbilt and Western Star. As far as room, the western star has them all beat. As far as performance, they are all the same under the hood. As for one that is the best mechanically, that is like asking what is better, Ford, Dodge or Chevy. Or like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.

Driven Volvo, Freight, KW and Peter. Volvo turns like a car which is awesome, can't stand the way they look lol. Frieght has a lot of room, cab is designed well, break downs tend to be a little faster to be fixed. Don't like the grill look though :-P ... KW looks mean, cab is roomy and well designed, all around I like them. Peterbilts don't have a turn radius lol. The look the best IMO, 13 speed and trailer break, cab is smaller than the others, fridge, gauges gallore. I just like driving them the most TBH.

Been in a Volvo, International, KW and Frieghtliner.. To be honest, I loved the International. It had tons of room, I however did not like the Detroit eng in the international, my volvo was awesome too, had the D13 Volvo eng and ran like a beast. Had a bit of room but I hit my head in the bunk when I slept..

Can you guys offer some tips when looking to buy a used truck? Insurance costs differ much between makes? other costs involved besides fuel and maintenance? Thanks.
