Well doesn't appear I'll be headed to.mcelroy 😞 I just got a phone call back from them and was advised my application was on hold and I was welcome to reapply again in 6 months. On to choice two.

Sorry to hear that. If I had to guess, I would say is the sleep study because I don't think they're set up to deal with those like some of the larger companies.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I've already spoke with another company that offers a dedicated route home daily and weekends here close to my home. This is a national carrier that specializes in glass and flatbed. Had a good chat with them and keeping my fingers crossed. They have no issue with the sleep apnea and in face asked that I hold off on my final sleep study because it will be less then 30 days before my graduation and could delay me for not having 30 days of compliance. That seems to me that they are really interested and looking to get me in the seat without any unnecessary delays. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Sleep Apnea:

A physical disorder in which you have pauses in your breathing, or take shallow breaths, during sleep. These pauses can last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Normal breathing will usually resume, sometimes with a loud choking sound or snort.

In obstructive sleep apnea, your airways become blocked or collapse during sleep, causing the pauses and shallow breathing.

It is a chronic condition that will require ongoing management. It affects about 18 million people in the U.S.
