That was a mess. I was heading southbound and took the 336 -> 95 detour and it was backed up for miles. Stop lights in small towns aren't made for i35 traffic. The cops couldn't even get by all the vehicles to direct traffic.

England was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. A flatbed carrying a lift is the one that tapped the bridge.

I was getting all upset at the dufuss reporter who was saying that the truck driver "crashed" his rig into the beam because it was too high BECAUSE the C.R. England truck was the one you could see in the report . . . obviously that rig was standard height and could NOT have caused the crash . . . the fact that it was flatbed with an over height load was not made clear in the report . . . guess that driver blew it big time . . .

Forgot to add, hold onto that '67 ! lol splitties are getting harder to find reasonably priced, specially with no rust!! My slammed '69 has no rust, Az/Cal life, just patina'd paint, primer spots (how i got it)Missed out on a '63 panel back in '80s, for $300 when bus's weren't sought after like nowdays :(

In a "cash crunch" and my Barn babies (they really ARE in a barn!) the '67 split and a 63 Ghia (both rust free and bought from original owners) are in need of TLC and might jut see the auction block ... so sad, but true ...

I don't even know that you would have to go the auction route. Just list them on The Samba and you'll get what they're worth without paying auction fees. Old Vee Dubs are some of my favorite vehicles.
