Finally started school today. I have so many emotions running through me at the moment. I'm a 49 yrs old a widow and all my kids are grown and out of the house. I have to concur this. I had to get my permit before I started my class. I had a lot of family issues that were going on as I was preparing for my permit. I usually test very well but thought this was one of the hardest tests I have taken. Needless to say I got my permit by the skin of my teeth. Anyways I was able to drive today and was able to get into 5th gear lol. If you have never drove a rig your only going about 10 mph if I remember correctly. In a car your going at least 55 mph. And I only killed one cone. Tomorrow more practice then on Wed its with the trailer and with the trailer there after. I am blessed that there is only one other person in my class. So tired hopefully tomorrow goes smoothly.

Only one other person in your class? Wow, you are so lucky! You will get lots of hands on training. What state are you in and what school are you attending, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm in Waupaca Wisconsin. Going to Sabertooth. I got funding through the WIA program and they were listed on the state list. They said the class usually has 4 or more students and lasts 3 weeks. 2 students at the last minute couldn't get funding. I wanted to go to Spirit in Belvidere Illinois which is about a half an hour away from my home in Janesville and is a 5 week course.,but my father had a major surgery and I decided to be closer to him so he can recover. And it's only 2 miles from my fathers. I don't care where I go to school as long as I learn enough basics to cover my state exam as it's $150.00 to take the state 3 part road test. And $50.00 for each part of the test I fail.
