I started with OD this week. So far so good really. I pulled my first set of doubles today. Was easier than I thought. What makes me more nervous is they plan on sending me out solo starting tomorrow. I've only really had two solid days training so I really hope it was enough to get me going. I'll keep everyone posted on how things go.

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

Hey brother, sent you a pm. Congrats again on your new start. Pulling those wiggle wagons is fun! You'll start seeing that you can cut turns a whole lot closer, and tighter. When parked alongside something, notice how as soon as the nose of your tail trailer reaches a certain spot, it will clear. For example, when parked beside another rig, as soon as the nose of your tail reaches the front of the tractor beside you, you can cut it hard right or left, and your tail trailer will clear the turn. You dont' have to wait for the tail to clear before making your turn - you'll see. Takes a little getting used to.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
