Has anyone attended "Quality Drivers" truck driving school, that is based in Indianapolis, IN? What companies hire out of that school besides Celadon (and what's up with them?)?
I went through there. Celadon items the school so that is your only option. If you want me than one option go somewhere else or be prepared to pay out of pocket for your tuition. If your go there keep in mind you're not going to learn nearly as much as you think you should. They're goal is to help you obtain your CDL. Your main training comes from 10,000 miles otr with a trainer. They'll tell you your contact options are 240,000 miles at 18 cents per mile or 120,000 miles at 15 cpm as a team. They have a 3rd option they seem to discourage at the school and that 120,000 miles at 27 cpm running solo in their reefer division. I chose that I've but have only been on the road 6 days. So far so good. If you have any more specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
A refrigerated trailer.
Pardon my broken English. My phone swype gets the better of me a lot of times...
