Ok, time for another update. Yes, I know, should do this more often, but it is what it is.

Ok, been running pretty hard, getting good miles/pay (remember miles not so important to me because I am lease & get paid a % of load).

Back in the first part of June I was sent to Laredo TX, boy did that turn out to be a real pain the a$$. So because of that (and a few other little things thrown in) I have decided to change from pulling a reefer to pulling a flatbed (skateboard).

I will be going home to WA state next week for a week for my 40 year HS class reunion (boy how time flies when you are having fun). Will make the change after that.

Not much else to update everyone on. I do however look in here on the forum most every night (when I am not too tired) and make occasional comments.

Will keep everyone updated on how my transition goes as I go along.

Hey, sounds good Ernie!

Ya know, I always wondered how people getting paid percentage know they're not getting snowed by their company. How do you know if the company is really getting paid what they claim they're getting paid instead of shaving a few extra bucks off the higher paying loads for themselves?

When I get my settlement papers for the previous week, they show what was actually paid to Prime, and I see what I was actually paid, so that way I see the whole big picture to be able to check on it.

Besides, some of the time when I get the paperwork for the load, it shows the $ amount. I also have the original papers on the truck with me so I can check that way as well if I want to.

Now if I thought I was getting cheated, I would not be here right now. Cannot stand to be lied to or cheated. I expect the same as I give, an honest wage for an honest days work.

Did they send you to a Walmart D/C? Because everytime I go to one its always the most frustrating experience ever.

Been to Walmart DC's many times. No, it was not a Walmart that changed my mind about pulling a reefer. Dealing with the fact that so much more waiting when loading/unloading at most grocery warehouses compared to what I see with most flatbed operations.

Yeah, but while you're out tarping a load in 95 degree heat, those reefer drivers are sleeping in their air conditioned bunks at the grocery warehouse smile.gif

Every decision in life is a compromise. It's just a matter of finding what suits you best. That's one of the nice things about trucking - there's a ton of variety out there to choose from.

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
