I'll probably be back the end of that week to pick up a new PSD myself. Going home next week for a few days and heading back up to try again. Maybe. This one isn't going so well. I'm having a very hard time trying to teach backing to my current. We only got like 4-5 hours the second day out to practice backing and then spent over a week in the Northeast with next to no truck stops and midnight pick-ups and deliveries.
So we may have 3 TT trainers available at Prime the week of the 15th?? Sounds great!
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
Going back to training a student through PSD and most likely through the TNT phase too. It's been a year since I trained Ken C. and I've had 130,000 miles since then to think about it and what could be improved.
I'm starting on the June 15th class.
Also, word on the road is Ken C. might also start training students on the same week as me.
Say if I jumped ship now and join Prime, I won't be a PSD correct?

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
An omen? I'm talking with a Prime recuiter today!
Been talking with my dispatcher and looks like I will start training students sometime in June.
