I used to drive a Mack log truck for my grandfather's logging company. But can I use that on job applications when they ask about my experience in trucking since its been a long time since then???

Sure, as long as its the truth they have no way to discredit you. It would go over better if you had paycheck stubs.

Sure you can list it. Can't hurt. BUT trucking companies don't count it as experience unless you are crossing state lines.

Intra - state (not leaving a state). Inter-state (leaving state).

Intra +state does not count as valid experience due to insurance companies guidelines.

Now also consider listing it cause, while its not considered true experience in the eyes of a insurance company, the applications are still decided apon by human beings. It might be the one detail that can catch someone's eye and move you a bit close to the positive side.

Just remember not to get disappointed if you still need to go through a training process. In order for trucking companies to get large insurance discounts they have to abide by the hiring practices that the insurance companies set up for them.

Truly in trucking it's not personal. It's just business.
