As someone who is getting ready for training and such, I personally like videos from down to Earth truckers that give insight on the life of the job. Scenery is cool, videos of horrific traffic is cool, funny CB radio. A few of my favorites are just videos from a dash cam. I think if someone makes content of things they are interested in, other people will appreciate it.
Guyjax- YES please make videos. I have read your posts, and I have learned a lot. Thanks
I am in 1st week of OTR training with Prime working on my 75 hours with permit. I give my Trainer an A+ for being a hard charging professional and PRIME driver making money for Prime and does good with the 14 going to off duty and sleeper berth often.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
The portion of the tractor behind the seats which acts as the "living space" for the driver. It generally contains a bed (or bunk beds), cabinets, lights, temperature control knobs, and 12 volt plugs for power.
Also my trainer is an owner operator , 2 million miles, no accidents, and I believe absolutely no other infractions.
An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.
I'll watch them. I'm all for it!
That would great, being able to see what life on the road is really like. It's a nice break from all the reading I do on this site. I enjoyed the prison video too. Looks like one hell of an adventure out there.
Guyjax; do you mean video beyond the dash cams you've put up, or do you mean ones with dialog? If the latter I'm sure you'd get a following if you covered topics like HOS , route planning, interesting places you've been (dash cam). You strike me as a dedicated driver, not that you drive a dedicated route but that you know how to keep your truck moving and earning for you and your company. That would be a refreshing change from the Abes of youtube. Not sure if your brother would like to be in a video or not, but giving insight on how a team keeps the wheels turning might be a new slant on youtube.
Just a few thoughts.
A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

Been seriously thinking about making videos again for my YouTube channel which I have slacked off on for a few years.
I am not a blogger like Abe the Idiot don't. Rarely I am in front of the camera myself though I am in a few.
Most videos on trucking have been done and redone many times.
Just not sure. Well think I will, if I start making them again, just make content for me and if others like it some much the better.
A day in the life of... Videos are great to watch like showing your truck at the shipper , what spot you have to back into, your trip planning thoughts , then switch to dash cam for the driving parts, and throw in the stops you make at truck stops/rest stops, and finally the receiver where you have to back into......
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

One of our former members did a video series "A week in the life of a Trucker". Below is the address to his channel. At the time of the videos he worked for Prime.
