I was kidding on giving you my CDL license. However, I am leaving trucking though.

I tried working for two trucking companies and the diesel fumes messed up my lungs something fierce. I don't want to deal with serious lung problems 10 years down the road. Diesel exhaust is a nasty irritant. It sucks because I enjoyed driving a big rig.

Good luck to all.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

That's a shame. Never heard of diesel fumes bothering anybody to the degree you're referring to. Hopefully you don't have any underlying conditions like asthma that you're not aware of. Perhaps you should go to a doctor and get yourself checked out?

6 string I went to a lung specialist. I have two lung ailments - asthma and sarcoidosis. The second ailment was discovered 6 months ago. No cure.

Ironically, I get choked up driving my car in traffic jams.

Man, that's a serious bummer! Sorry to hear that. Time to get away from those city fumes and out into the clean air of the country, eh?

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Yes, country air does me quite well and notice a huge difference away from the city.

It is a bummer I can't do what I like.
