I know of a truck driving school that only wanted me to go to back 5 years. They are out in Missouri if you want to go jumping around with your driver's license. I would suggest trying out another school.
I found a place in my state called the one stop career center that helps you find a job and if you can't find one for some reason or another they will give you federal monies towards driving school. That's the route I'm taking.

I was just turned down by Trailiner for their truck driving school. I asked why??? They said they can't tell me anything except that it was one of these things - employment history, criminal history or driving record. The only one that fit me was the employment history. I live in an area where tourists make up most of the jobs so you are either fired or laid off in the winter. Making job history very spotty. I have my permit. Have I wasted my time? I had planned to take my driving test with a friends truck in about a week. Now, I dont know if I should waste another $100 or possibly $250 if my friend is not off the road in time to help me with his truck. What a major disappointment!! What good will it be if I have my CDL and can;t get a job? Also I was totally unemployed for almost 2 years during the past 10 years which is how far they wanted me to go back on job history.
