WELCOME TO THE CLUB

That makes 4 drivers who've been on TT forum who are with OD now. Two of us are linehaul , two of us are city.

Very happy for you! Congrats. Feel free to get in touch with me.

Linehaul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

There was a few things that got me. First was the fact that between 6String and every other OD driver I spoke with, not a single one had something bad to say. They all loved the company. Second was the schedule. With my current job I'm only gone one or two nights a week but now there will be no overnights. Which with having a wife and two kids age five and under that's huge. Third is pay and benefits. They are significantly better than my current company.

All in all it just seemed to fit my current situation better. Plus after talking with the facility manager I got a great feeling about the company. I'm super excited about this new opportunity and plan to make the nose of it.

Of course I'm not excited about giving my notice today. I do like the company and people i work with so it will be hard to leave. And they just lost another driver last week so I hate leaving them so short handed. You gotta do what you gotta do though.
