Just wanted to thank Brett and the others involved in the online CDL program. I used it before I went to school, and am I ever glad I did! I would have been totally lost in class without it! I have my permit in my hot little hand!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

You will need to CONTINUE to study on here... the High Road Training Program is your next step, and you want to get started as soon as you can. It will be your lifeline when your in the driving school you choose. After studying the High Road, you will be way ahead of the others in school. Those schools really throw the stuff at you..and if you go in there knowing more than everyone else, you will excel at it. Keep us posted, and now step out there and go after that next adventure !!

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
