If you could provide the name of your (ex) company that would help.
I dont want to say the name of the company. I feel that will return biassed reply's by those who may have felt they have been wronged by the company. Besides, this being strictly a legallity over policy issue, i dont think it would be necessary.
I hope im not coming across as rude but i noticed reading a lot of other posts on other subjects, the majority of reply's didnt really answer the question at all. Im hoping any of you that reply can help specifically with this unique incident.
Thank you so much
I would guess the language on voiding the contract should be in the contract.
Take it for what it's worth, but I've read that if they let you go you have no obligation.
But I will defer to others that may have actually been through this!
Following! This is one of my fears!! I am also curious to know if you find another company.

It depends what's in the contract. Is there a clause that says if they let you go because you didn't pass the test that you still owe? Did you get paperwork saying you were terminated versus quitting? This is going to be company specific and unless it's a company that we have a handful of drivers for, we might not have an answer. That said, generally you wouldn't owe if you were terminated in training if my Google researching is any good. See if you can get a copy of the contract.
Companies usually guarantee you a job,so if they dont hire you,the contract is void, but read the fine print.
If they terminate you, even if for failing their test, your contract should be null and void. That said, read your fine print. You might be able to talk to human resources about this but I can also understand not wanting to bring it up. You have a right to know the answer, though.

Hi, I signed up for a trucking company that has one of the typical "pay for your school if you work for one year" situations. You have 6 weeks to go out with a trainer over the road , then you come back and take a written test and driving test before they give you the keys.
I failed the test and they let me go without option to further my training and retest.
I simply want to know if this cancels the contract from me paying the school tuition back to them.
I was under the impression that if i quit, i would have to pay them the tuition back because of the breach of contract on my part, but if they turn me away for employment, then breach of contract is on them.
Thank you so much

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
