You get twelve D-shaped tires and really cool skid marks!!!
Sounds like you know all about it, but my answer would have included the free enema that came with that surprise!
Yup..you are both right...I know from first hand experience...Got the hat, the shirt, and the new underwear to prove it....oh...and all this grey hair ?? That is my badge of honor for these learning experiences. I rate losing trailer air right next to blowing a steer tire at 70mph....
Operating While Intoxicated
When you blow a steer tire, your survival instinct tells you to hit the brakes...DON"T DO THAT !!!..Steering will be the hardest thing to do, let off the fuel, hit your jake if you can to slow down and move to the side of the road. If it ever happens to you, it will be a memorial experience. I'm sure that other drivers will have some different ideas on how to handle it, and I hope they chime in...
Starcar is right. Don't use the breaks if a steer tire blows. Let it roll to a stop. If you hit the brakes the rim will make contact with the ground and pull your truck towards that side REALLY FAST then you have a whole new set of problems like how to explain why your truck turned on its side while your drove off the road.
I will have to practice flipping those on quickly, among other things.
Main thing is not to panic and for god's sake if you can always keep the truck straight. Most accidents where the truck was the only one involved was due to driver panic.
It would be nice to have a simulator for these situations, I will try to visualize them anyhow.

What happens when the trailer air supply line on a 50' (empty, thank God!) RGN ruptures while traveling 70 mph down the interstate?
