It's August. Bring a wide brim hat. Remember you're standing on asphalt, so you'll get the heat from the sun, and reflected off the pavement.
Some people chuckle at this, mainly because I've brought it up so much. Get a toy semi-truck from Walmart ($12-$17). The backing exercises will probably drive you up the wall with frustration, but watching your own truck back up will really help you understand why that trailer isn't going like you expect.
You can probably buy both when you get there, but if you have the space get it now. I would bring those little neck cooler things that you soak in water and then tie around neck... big time help with keeping cool, also sun block... doesn't matter where you are that sun sucks when it starts to burn your skin. depending on the hotel you're staying at don't forget swim trunks... you might laugh but that pool might feel nice... they have even have a spa to soak in and that'll feel nicer. all 3 things can be bought when you get there but like I said if you have space why wait.

I'm off to a program on Monday. It's just far enough away that commuting everyday will probably suck. So, I'll pay for the hotel and hope for the best (a sane room mate).
Besides the clothes, notebooks and stuff, I'll probably bring a cooler of food and water, a computer, and a frisbee.
Anything that you wish you would've lugged to the school?
