Man in the short time I've been on the road so far I can already see how this industry changes people. I've had to learn a lot of patience, how to roll with the punches and take what comes, how to make myself look like a huge fool and laugh it off, been uncomfortable more times than I can count, nervous as all get out.

I thought about quitting, been frustrated....and I love every minute of it lol.

It really has taught me a lot I'm about 2 weeks late getting my own truck so still with a trainer due to trouble getting loads out of Florida where I took hometime and one thing after another there. But I'll make it to springfield eventually lol.

Was just thinking about all the changes that have come about in such a short time. My relationship with my fiance has also been tested something fierce that's for sure lol.

You said it. This industry is one h*ll of a tough place to make a living.

It's interesting because my approach has always been to try to help people be successful in trucking exactly the way trucking is. I've been asked numerous times why I don't take more of an activist approach and try to campaign for change where change is needed instead of accepting the parts of trucking that could be improved? My answer is simple - because trucking hasn't changed in 30 years and likely won't change much in the next 30 so I'm going to prepare people to handle trucking instead of teaching them to complain about everything.

In essence, trucking may change you but you won't change trucking so either decide to adapt or decide to move on. That's how I saw it as a driver and that's how I see it today. Sure there are things that could be better. In fact it's the same things that could have been better 30 years ago.

It seems you're handling it great Logan and you seem to have the right attitude. Trucking is hard, but the hard part is what makes it great!

Brett, like software EULAs, can you make all new, inexperienced, potential drivers who register on TT read then sign off on Logan's post?

Just askin'!

That is a great one! Actually we've been talking about having an "All-Star" tag for posts in this forum. There has been a lot of comments from people that make me think, "Wow, everyone should read this!"

We're going to do it somehow. It's on the list. We certainly need a "must read" section.

Thanks Brett I think I'm starting to learn a little :) been reading your book during my breaks as well lots of good things in there and love it.

Sticky threads would be a good idea I know there's a few posts I've ran across and searched them out again it would be nice to have them easily accessible.
