Its easiest to go to school in your home state.Celadon in Indiana will train, and not push you through on someone elses time line. Really depends where your located, and how long your permit is valid.
That's a tough one bud. I'd say you best bet would be to try and get more hours through your school like another solid day with an Instructor running whatever the SOS course there is. Kinda surprised that didn't already do that. We had a guy so bad on skills they simply wouldn't let him test, kept him an extra week, and had him do nothing but skills in the yard.
My question; I have been through CDL school and have a Permit
ok, I'm confused and certainly being serious asking this and not trying to be smart. Isn't the point of school to get your CDL-A? Really wondering because I didn't think you finished school without your CDL. At the school I'm starting very soon, they take you to the dmv road testing center run by our state police, for your skills, drive/road test, and pretrip so you finish with your CDL.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
New laws that went into affect june 8,standardized testing. I believe every state will have the same testing procedure. Cdl schools now require you to come to school, with a permit, from home state. They train you, then send you home to test. Before standardized testing, each state was slightly different,so you would acquire the permit at school. This also reduces wasted time on students who come without complete documentation,or the smarts,to actually get their permits.By making students come to school with permits, streamlines the whole process.

Cre is notorius for pushing students to get there cdl in 17 days. I failed three times on backing, which actually was a good thing. Celadon never rushed me,and I passed at my first try at Celadon.

My question; I have been through CDL school and have a Permit but have had little actual drive time so when I took my test I passed pre-trip and Skills but failed the road test twice because it took me too long to recover a lost gear. Are there any companies that would hire me and give me more shifting time before I take my last chance on this permit. So far everyone I called turned me down. Need help so I can start my Trucking Career.

TWIC:
Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
