Hunt Transportation, Inc. is one of the oldest transportation companies in Nebraska, providing continuous service since 1927. Headquartered in Omaha, Hunt has a storied history, from hauling livestock in the early years to today as one of the nation's premier flatbed and specialized transportation providers.

Hunt joined the Crete family of companies in 1999 and currently operates 250+ power units and 600+ flatbed, drop-deck, RGN, and curtain side trailers serving the 48 contiguous states. Hunt transports agricultural and construction materials/equipment and any commodity that requires flatbed equipment.

Hunt Transportation Driver Pay

Oversized Load Pay: Flatbed drivers are paid an additional $.06 per paid dispatched loaded mile on all permitted oversized loads. Approximately, one in every Five (20%) loads are oversized.

Stop-Off Pay: If your load requires multiple stops in addition to the original pick up and the final delivery, you will receive stop pay of $30 per stop.

Breakdown Pay: The breakdown of truck driver pay of $100 is paid for each 24 hour period following the first 12 hours.

Tarp Pay: Less than 25% of loads require tarp. Many of the loads are pre-loaded agricultural freight which allow drivers to tarp much less than other flatbed companies. A load requiring a tarp will pay $50, and an additional $20 for re-tarps.

Safety/Productivity Bonus: If a driver produces 18,600 or more delivered and paid practical route dispatched miles in a two (2) month period, and meets the following criteria, driver will be paid $0.03 per delivered paid practical dispatched mile for that two (2) month period:

TWIC Reimbursement: Hunt Transportation will cover 100% of the cost for all new and renewed TWIC's.

Hunt Programs For Military Personnel

  • Driver Compensation: Drivers will be compensated $500 a week during the 8 week training, and will earn between $.39 and $.42 cents per practical mile after being released from the road training program.
  • Experienced Trainers: We offer a one on one, hands-on training program that allows the trainer to be with you at all times to answer any questions you may have. All of our trainers have at least two years experience meaning they have the industry knowledge to help you be successful.
  • No Team Driving: Our specialized training program does not allow for 24 hour team driving. We believe that our trainees deserve hands-on supervised training in order to get the necessary training need to be a professional truck driver.
