Founded in 1928 by Jack Cooper as a carrier for General Motors from the Leeds Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Missouri.

Jack Cooper is the largest over-the-road transporter of light-vehicles in both the US and Canada. They service most of the major domestic and foreign automotive manufacturers' with 59 terminals primarily in the midwestern and eastern regions of the U.S. and Canada, and are one of the largest inspectors and shippers of pre-owned vehicles with 20 inspection sites across the United States.

Jack Cooper Minimum Hiring Qualifications

  • Must be at least 23 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL
  • At least two (2) years over-the-road experience or,six (6) months over-the-road in conjunction with a certificate of graduation from a PTDIA (Professional Truck Drivers Institute of America) Certified Driver Training School.
  • No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene, or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within 3 years.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess an alien registration card
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language, in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Must be able to verify the past 10 years of employment and gaps
  • Must pass a DOT physical and controlled substance and alcohol test
  • Must pass a company road test
  • Must meet or exceed all job description requirements
  • Must be professional in appearance and attitude at all times with customers, fellow employees, and the general public
  • No DWI, DUI, or reckless driving convictions within the last 5 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the last year and no more than 4 within the last 3 years
  • Must possess a valid Social Security card
