Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and in El Paso, Texas, MVT began in 1981 hauling primarily refrigerated/perishable goods, as a small, independent fleet in the Southwest. During a period of controlled growth through the 1980's and early 1990's, the MVT service area encompassed the 48 United States and Canada.

In 1991, MVT brought its knowledge of time-sensitive, reliable transportation to the U.S./Mexico border in service of the twin-plant industry. The acquisition of numerous 53 ft. dry van trailers made their fleet a sizable force in the industry.

Today, Mesilla Valley Transportation is one of the largest locally-owned transportation providers in Western Texas and New Mexico, specializing in time sensitive service between major manufacturing areas in the U.S. and Canada, and Mexico borders.

Getting Hired At Mesilla Valley Transportation

Mesilla Valley Transportation Minimum Hiring Qualifications

  • Must have a current valid CDL License
  • Minimum age is 21
  • If no driving within previous 2 years we need to account for the last DOT employer prior to hire (must successfully pass a Road test)
  • If no driving within last 5 years must take a refresher course with one of our existing TRAINERS (Training program)for a minimum of 30,000.
  • Less than 9 months of experience Driver to be under (Training program)
  • No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years - any vehicle
  • No DUI / DWI within the last 3 years
  • No multiples offenses within the last 7 years.
  • No convictions within previous 5 years
  • No controlled substances
  • No violent crimes
  • All accidents within previous 3 years to be reviewed and approved by Department Manager and the Safety Manager.
  • No FMCSA (DOT) related drug or alcohol testing policy violations
  • SAP evaluations are not accepted by this Company
  • Meet all DOT driver qualification regulations
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • DOT physical (medical certificate and medical long form)
  • Must have a valid DOT Physical
  • Accepted PSP Review

  • Hiring Drivers With Felonies

    No violent crimes, no convictions in past 5 years.

  • Hiring Drivers With A DUI

    No DUI / DWI within the last 3 years, no multiple offenses within the last 7 years, none requiring SAP evaluations.
