Del Mar College

Del Mar College Transportation Training Services has created an intensive training program to help the transportation industry with the high demand for qualified truck drivers and to give you access to better paying jobs. Their program prepares students to successfully obtain the knowledge and skills to be able to obtain a Class A CDL driver's license.

What Programs Does Del Mar College Offer?

• Class A CDL Program - A four week program of 200 clock hours. This program includes 50 hours of lab and classroom instruction to prepare students for their CDL general knowledge exam, 80 hours of backing skills instruction, and 70 clock hours of behind the wheel instruction.
• Class B CDL Program - An individual successful completing this program should have experienced the ability to safely operate a bus. This program includes 30 hours in the classroom and lab to help student's prepare for their CDL general knowledge exam, 20 hours of behind the wheel and observation time, and 20 additional hours of over the road instruction.

Del Mar College is a certified 3rd Party Testing facility. All Del Mar Students that successfully pass their certification will be scheduled their CDL Driving Skills Test at our facilities and avoiding the lengthy scheduling process at DPS.

Tuition And Financing

• Class A CDL Tuition - $4,000
• Class B CDL Tuition - $1,560

Admission Requirements

• Must have a valid Texas driver's license
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have more than three moving violations on driving record in past three years.
• Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen. Once registered, the student will be sent for the physical and drug screen. (Prerequisite Class)
