The Transportation Institute Commercial Vehicle Operator Training Program is recognized as being one of the premier truck driver training programs in Iowa. The program is certified by the Professional Truck Driver's Institute.
Commercial Vehicle Operator Training (Class A CDL)
This program offers a comprehensive course for Class A CDL that will prepare individuals for jobs in the transportation industry. Students will gain a solid foundation of knowledge with 2 weeks of classroom work followed by 4 weeks of intensive hands-on driving training. Students will complete over 60 hours behind the wheel driving training in real world situations, and graduate with the Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with endorsements.
Pre-Requisite: You must attend an information session at the Transportation Institute which are held on Mondays OR Thursdays from 5-6 p.m. at 2081 NE 54th Avenue.
Day Classes: Monday through Friday, 6 weeks
Night Classes: Monday through Friday, 12 weeks
Classes offered every 3 weeks, year-round
Entire program: $4,700
Financial Aid and Scholarship Opportunities
If you have served in the military, or are the spouse or dependent of a veteran, you may be eligible for veterans' education benefits. Because the cost of attending DMACC is relatively low, veterans' education benefits can often cover the cost of tuition with funds remaining to assist with the cost of books, fees, supplies, housing expenses, gas money, etc.
