Diesel Driving Academy

Diesel Driving Academy is one of the largest privately owned and accredited truck driving schools in the United States, and have been in continuous operation since 1972. In 1982 DDA became accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and are still accredited by its successor, The Council on Occupational Education.

What Programs Does Diesel Driving Academy Offer?

• Advanced CDL Driver Training Program - The Advanced CDL Driver Training course is ideal for people who are looking for in-depth CDL Training. No previous experience is needed to enroll in this course. The experienced instructors work closely with students on a variety of classroom instruction, while providing intensive behind-the-wheel training. Course work includes advanced operation practices in addition truck driving safety topics. This program can be completed in day or evening classes, and offers graduates a wide range of career opportunities in the trucking industry.
• Basic Driver CDL Training Program - The Basic CDL Driver Training program provides an introduction to the trucking industry, including basic vehicle instruments and controls. Students will become familiar with tractor trailers, while learning safe maneuvering and driving. No previous knowledge is required to enroll in this course. Learn what it takes to become a professional truck driver, and be ready for a new career in just a few weeks!
• CDL Prep Course - The CDL Prep course is designed for students with no previous truck driving experience. In this course, instructors work with you to make sure you know the rules of the road, and teach the maneuvering skills needed to drive a big rig.

Tuition and Financing

Tuitions costs vary by program, and your out-of-pocket costs will depend on what types of financial assistance you qualify for. DDA's goal is to offer quality truck driver courses at an affordable cost to students.

• Advanced CDL Driver Training Program - This program is taught four days per week (20 weeks), or five evenings per week (30 weeks), and is offered at three campus locations: Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and Little Rock. Tuition for this program is $10,700
• Basic Driver CDL Training Program – This driver training program is offered at all four campus locations: Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Little Rock, and West Monroe. This course lasts 4 weeks for day classes and 8 weeks for night classes. Tuition is $5,900.
• CDL Prep Course - This training program is 3 weeks, or 136 clock hours. Tuition is $4,900.

DDA‘s financial aid team will help you find out if you qualify for a reasonable financial aid plan and then help you build it to maximize your options. DDA is licensed and/or approved by:

Admission Requirements

To become a student at Diesel Driving Academy’s truck driving school in Louisiana or Arkansas, you need to meet minimum truck driver qualifications and requirements including:

• Current driver’s license
• Be at least 21 years old by the date of graduation
• Have an acceptable driving record
• Pass Department Of Transportation physical and drug screen
• Meet Department of transportation Qualification for Truck Operators
