Courses offered for obtaining a CDL are taken at Hawkeye's Regional Transportation Training Center, a training location for a variety of credit and continuing education driving courses. The driving range features an open driving area, 26-foot wide road, inclines, and left and right turns. The center's building houses classrooms, drive through truck bays, and has space for four virtual driving simulators.
Prior to starting, you must pass and pay for a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and pre-employment drug screen.
Hawkeye Community College also offers Bus Driver Training, Heavy Equipment Operator Training and Highway Construction Training at the Regional Transportation Training Center.
