Introduction to Rouge Community College

Rouge Community College is one of the area's premier truck driving schools and is accredited by the Northwest Commission of College and Universities Certificate Program approved by the Oregon Department of Education. RCC trains students to be prepared to enter the workforce with the knowledge and understanding of today's world in the truck driving industry.

What Does RCC Offer?

  • Class A CDL Program - A 12-credit Commercial Truck Driver Training Program which consists of 50 hours of classroom instruction and 140 hours of truck yard and open road instruction, delivered in three (3) sections.
  • Assistance with job placement
  • Lower tuition costs

Admission Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years and have a valid unexpired Oregon driver license.
  • Must have a reasonable driving record for the past five years.
  • Completed Application Packet
  • The ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
  • Secure a copy of your motor vehicle record from your state DMV.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.

  • The Oregon Vocational Rehabilitation Division (VRD) may provide funding for an eligible individual with a disability.
  • The Oregon Employment Department (OED) may provide funding if you have been displaced from your previous employment under Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA).
  • WorkSource Oregon has funding available for qualified applicants.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Many companies in the trucking industry have tuition reimbursement programs in effect that can repay your tuition investment in addition to your earnings. Please contact companies for additional information.

Veterans

Qualified veterans may apply for veterans’ educational benefits. For information call the RCC Veteran Services Department, at 541-245-7738.
