Sage Truck Driving School

One of the great options for getting quality CDL training is with Sage Trucking Schools. Sage has 23 locations spread over the country. They offer a variety of courses, financing options, job assistance with reputable partners in the industry and special programs for veterans. Most importantly, they offer one-on-one training so students get to spend their time on the road driving and not watching others drive. Note that not all programs and financing options are available at all locations.

What Programs Does Sage Offer?

• Comprehensive Tractor-Trailer Driver Basic - For students with no experience in trucking who want to get their Class A CDL, the “flagship” program offers students 150 hours of instruction and 44 hours of one-on-one driving time.
• Commercial Drivers License Essentials - Also for students with no experience, this program focuses not only on driving tractor-trailers but also driving heavy-duty trucks, dump trucks and medium-sized delivery trucks.
• Tractor-Trailer Driver Advanced - For students that have some experience but need a little more instruction to land a job, this course offers students 80 instruction hours and 30 driving hours.
• Tractor-Trailer Driver Refresher - For students with some experience or those that want to improve their skills, the course offers 40 instruction and 20 driving hours.
• Tractor-Trailer Driver Externship - This program is a follow-up of 150 additional hours to the traditional CDL course, paid for by a partner employer.
• Straight Truck Class B Driver - For students looking to obtain their Class B CDL.

Tuition And Financing

• Workforce Development Grants - There are a number of state and federal programs that offer workforce training grants. Grants do not have to be paid back.
• Loans - Staff members may help students secure a loan with partner lenders.
• Employer Tuition Reimbursement Plans - Some employers will pre-hire and provide reimbursement after training is finished.
• Trucking Employer-Paid Plans - Some employers will provide tuition upfront in exchange for a work commitment.
• Pay Upfront - Always the quickest option to get your CDL!

Program For Military Veterans

Started by a veteran, Sage is military-friendly and committed to helping veterans attend trucking school. Veterans can use their GI Bill benefits for tuition and/or housing during training. There is the possibility of a unique apprenticeship opportunity offered through some employers that offers an additional $1000/month pay on top of regular salary. And finally, a veteran student may qualify for credit for relevant prior experience during service.

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for truck driving school include a high school diploma or GED, a driver’s license and a driving record free of major violations. Prospective students must submit a DOT medical report, pass a drug test, pass three written tests and interview in-person or by phone with a staff member.
