Spartanburg Community College Truck Driver Training Program is dedicated to preparing individuals for careers in the truck driving industry, to help meet the fast growing needs for qualified professional truck drivers. The school offers both CDL-A and CDL-B license programs. The CDL-A course is six weeks for a total of 240 documented instructional hours and will qualify you to drive a tractor trailer. The CDL-B is two weeks for a total of 80 documented instructional hours and will qualify you to drive a Box Truck. This comprehensive program covers:
Classes are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with night driving hours scheduled as necessary to meet state requirements. Prospective students must complete an application online. Tuition for the Class A CDL is $4,399, and tution for the CDL-B is $2,299.
Students may apply for financial aid through FAFSA, and the State of South Carolina also offers several unique options for funding assistance. These include the Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan designed to help families jump-start saving for college while enjoying federal and state tax benefits, and the South Carolina Tuition Tax Credit. The school itself also offers scholarships and the SCC Emergency Fund Request to assist a student with one-time emergency needs through a designated Foundation fund, based on specific hardship circumstances and available funds (up to $500). For those eligible, this fund is also applicable toward books.
