Information Regarding Schneider's Background Check?

Hey everyone!

I wanted to give you guys an update on my application with Schneider. They've decided to not move forward with my application due to my driving history. While I was kind of expecting that, what I didn't expect was that they require drivers who have been terminated for safety reasons to have a six month CDL driving record free of accidents after the last one. Thought this update might be helpful to those who are in the same/similar situation that I am in.

Was arrested and charged with reckless driving...

If all the charges were dismissed, you should be fine. Depending on the rest of your driving and criminal history, of course.

This. At least here in Texas, if charges are dismissed then it falls off your MVR. It only stays on your MVR if you are found guilty of whatever charge that would be (speeding, running a stop sign, DUI, etc).

Information Regarding Schneider's Background Check?

Hi everyone!

Just to give an update, I went ahead and applied and filled everything out honestly. I was given a contingent job offer so as long as nothing else shows up I should be good to go! I attend on applying to more places once I officially have my CDL, but I was pleasantly surprised that the first round went well.

Of course, I need to knock on wood, anything can happen between now and then.

Information Regarding Schneider's Background Check?

Contact HireRight and get a free copy of your DAC.

Driving information reported on there will show the previous 10 years, so back as far as 2011.

I've tried to do that several times and each time they indicated that there's no file from Swift. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here, because it seems odd that the biggest trucking company doesn't report to DAC. I'll go ahead and call them to see if maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Information Regarding Schneider's Background Check?

Hi,

I'm looking to apply for Schneider and other trucking companies in the area I live in. I've had 17 months prior experience with Swift Transportation from July 2017 - January 2019, but was let go because I had three backing accidents (none reported to MVR or police, but could be on DAC). They took place in February 2018, March 2018, and December 2018. So, I decided to work elsewhere as trucking companies would be nervous about hiring me which is fair. My license dropped back to a Class C (Texas) around September 2019 because I didn't bother to update my medical certificate. Most of my employment afterwards was with a Uniform and Linen Company for a little over a year, and I've had no problems driving for them with a Class C, but I've decided it was time to obtain my CDL again, learn from my mistakes, and get back on the road as a truck driver.

Specifically, I'm interested in running Schneider Dedicated with Coca Cola in the Austin Area, and I'm wanting to know how far back they will check my driving record? I figured it would be three years, but the site wants five years of driving history. The only thing that's reported on my MVR is one speeding ticket I got from my PV in May of 2018. Also, are there other trucking companies besides local small companies that will give me another shot?

Thank you for reading!
